Are You Worried About Feline Panleukopenia?
It is likely you have heard that a local animal rescue has had to shut its doors to cats for a couple of weeks due to an outbreak of Feline Panleukopenia, also known as Feline Distemper.
This virus is highly contagious and often is fatal in kittens.
But there is no need for panic!
If you have a vaccinated, adult cat you have little to worry about. Kittens who have received at least one vaccine are also at lower risk. Unvaccinated kittens are at highest risk from this virus. Our best advise is to vaccinate as soon as possible and to maintain good hygeine.
