Katie

Originally from Franklin County and now a Roanoke local, Katie has been part of the veterinary world since 2009. Over the years she’s worn many hats—including grooming for five years and assisting for eight—before finding her current home at the front desk. She loves helping clients feel informed and confident about their pets’ care, and her breadth of experience makes her an invaluable resource to both clients and the team.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, watching movies, playing video games, listening to live music, and diving into anything related to history. She shares her home with two dogs and two cats, and a fun fact about her: she once met actor Bill Murray as an infant—she just wishes she could remember it!

Deidre

Deidre is a newer face in the veterinary field and a valued part of the Animal Care Center of Salem team. Though she’s just beginning her journey in veterinary medicine, her compassion and positive attitude make a big impact on the pets and people she meets each day. Deidre especially enjoys helping to build strong, trusting relationships between owners and their pets, knowing how important that bond is to every family.

When she’s not at work, Deidre enjoys relaxing with a good book or spending time playing bingo with friends. She’s also a proud and loving mother of two boys, who keep her life full of laughter and joy.

Kymiah

Originally from Richmond, VA, Kymiah is an enthusiastic newer member of the Animal Care Center of Salem team. With just over a year of experience in veterinary medicine, she brings a bright attitude and a strong eagerness to learn. She loves being around animals every day, discovering new things about veterinary care, and—of course—getting to wear cute scrub tops while doing what she loves. Kymiah is preparing to begin her pre-veterinary undergraduate studies soon, continuing her path toward a rewarding career helping animals.

Outside of work, Kymiah enjoys watching movies, trying new foods, shopping, and catching up on some much-deserved naps. She shares her home with two cats and one dog, who always keep her entertained and remind her why she’s so passionate about animal care.

Sara

Sara brings eight years of experience in veterinary medicine to the Animal Care Center of Salem team. Her favorite part of working in this field is helping animals feel better and easing the stress or pain that pets and their owners experience during difficult times. With a genuine love for animals and a calm, caring approach, Sara is dedicated to making every visit as comfortable and positive as possible.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending her free time playing video games, reading, and listening to music. At home, she shares her life with four cats and two dogs who keep things lively and full of love. Fun fact—Sara works alongside her twin sister, Amber, who is also part of the ACCS team!

Ashley

Ashley is a veterinary assistant with four years of experience in the field and a strong passion for hands-on animal care. Originally from Roanoke, VA, she enjoys the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of veterinary medicine and takes pride in helping pets through every stage of their visit. Ashley especially enjoys pulling blood, running labwork, monitoring surgeries, and examining microscope samples—she finds great satisfaction in the science and precision behind keeping pets healthy. Her sweet personality and dedication to learning make her a valued member of the Animal Care Center of Salem team.

Outside of work, Ashley loves staying active and creative. She enjoys hiking, reading, writing, longboarding, photography, and playing video games. At home, she spends her downtime with her cat and dog, both of whom keep her entertained and remind her daily why she chose a career helping animals.

Amber

Amber is a Salem, VA local who has been part of the veterinary field for six years. She began her career working in the kennels and, through dedication and hands-on experience, transitioned into her current role as a veterinary assistant. Amber loves being part of a team that helps animals live their healthiest, happiest lives, and she takes pride in providing compassionate care to every patient she meets. Her calm nature and genuine love for animals make her an important part of the Animal Care Center of Salem family. Fun fact—Amber works alongside her twin sister, Sara, who is also part of the ACCS team!

Outside of work, Amber enjoys expressing her creativity through drawing and painting, relaxing with movies, and playing video games. She shares her life with two beloved dogs who keep her smiling and remind her every day why she chose a career in veterinary medicine.

Billie

Billie joined the Animal Care Center of Salem team with a passion for animals and a love of hands-on learning. Originally from Fincastle, VA, Billie has been working in veterinary medicine for about a year and is currently completing a Veterinary Assistant certification. She enjoys every part of helping animals feel their best—from sharing cuddles with healthy patients to watching sick pets recover and return home happy and well. Billie’s calm nature and genuine care for animals make her a wonderful addition to the ACCS team.

Outside of work, Billie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, hunting, and fishing. She finds peace in the quiet of nature and on the farm, where she cares for three cats, one dog, and a herd of cows. Her love for animals and appreciation for the natural world shine through in everything she does.

Renee

Originally from South Florida, Renee moved to the Salem area seven years ago and has since found her calling in veterinary medicine. She’s been working with animals for the past five years, starting in kennel care before stepping into her current role as a veterinary assistant. Renee especially enjoys working with senior pets and helping them stay comfortable and happy in their golden years. Her kindness, patience, and gentle approach make her a wonderful part of the Animal Care Center of Salem team.

When she’s not at the clinic, Renee enjoys crocheting, swimming, gardening, and practicing macro photography. She also loves spending time with her family and unwinding with video games. At home, Renee’s life is full of animal companions—including one dog, two cats, two snakes, a turtle, and six chickens—all of whom keep things lively and full of personality.

Lynelis

Originally from Puerto Rico, Lynelis brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep love of animals to the Animal Care Center of Salem team. She has been working in veterinary medicine for about a year while completing her pre-veterinary undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where she’s preparing to apply to veterinary school. With three years of pre-vet education and a growing passion for hands-on experience, Lynelis enjoys meeting animals of all kinds and learning about the unique behaviors and personalities of different breeds.

When she’s not studying or working, Lynelis enjoys baking, crocheting, sewing, and curling up with a good book. She also participates in showing dairy cattle and loves caring for her cat, Marci. Her warmth, dedication, and eagerness to learn make her a valued member of the ACCS team and a bright future veterinarian in the making.

Dean

Dean brings over two years of versatile experience to the Animal Care Center of Salem, having worked in reception, the kennel, and now assisting. Originally from Baltimore, he’s enjoyed growing his skills in multiple areas of veterinary care and loves learning all the ins and outs of the field. His well-rounded background and calm, steady presence make him a valued part of the team.

Outside of work, Dean is an avid F1 racing fan and enjoys comic books and collectibles. He shares life with his dog and is also the only military veteran on our team—a part of his story he’s proud to carry with him.

Ariannah

Ariannah has been part of the ACCS family since high school and continues to grow her skills and passion for veterinary medicine as a student at Virginia Tech. When she’s not in class, she’s here working alongside our team—gaining hands-on experience, learning new skills, and supporting patients with a calm, caring presence.

Outside of work, Ariannah enjoys spending time with her family and friends and caring for the many pets she shares with her household. She’s known for her kindness, her enthusiasm, and her genuine love for animals—all qualities that make her a wonderful part of our team.

Vicky

Originally from Brazil, Vicky is currently a dedicated vet tech student who brings enthusiasm and compassion to the Animal Care Center of Salem. She especially loves working with “spicy” cats and making even the sassiest patients feel understood and cared for.

Outside the clinic, Vicky enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching scary movies. She brings a fun, warm energy to the team and loves sharing her passion for animals and learning wherever she goes.

Allie

Allie brings seven years of hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant to the Animal Care Center of Salem, where her skill and dedication make her a valued part of the team. Originally from Rockbridge County, Virginia, she is currently pursuing her Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster to further her career in animal care. Allie especially enjoys taking X-rays and using diagnostic tools to help ensure each pet receives the best possible care. Her calm demeanor and strong work ethic make her an important part of the daily operations at ACCS.

Outside of work and school, Allie enjoys a mix of creative and active hobbies, including playing video games, drawing, and horseback riding. She shares her home with three cats who provide endless companionship and inspiration.

Lexi

Lexi is the Kennel Manager at the Animal Care Center of Salem and brings over six years of experience in kennel care to the team. A Roanoke, VA local, she has a natural gift for helping pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable during their stay. Lexi loves getting to know each animal’s unique personality and takes special pride in helping nervous pets come out of their shells. Her patience and gentle approach make her an invaluable part of the ACCS family.

When she’s not at the clinic, Lexi enjoys reading, writing, and drawing. She shares her home with one dog and one cat who inspire her love of animals every day. Fun fact—Lexi’s mom, Jen, is the groomer here at ACCS, making their shared passion for animal care a true family affair!

Ethan

Ethan is an enthusiastic member of the Animal Care Center of Salem team who joined the field of veterinary medicine about a year ago. With a bachelors degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism, he brings a friendly, approachable energy and a love for connecting with both people and animals. Ethan enjoys seeing the wide variety of breeds that come through the clinic and observing how each pet’s unique personality shines. His curiosity and willingness to learn make him a valued and growing part of the ACCS team.

Outside of work, Ethan enjoys staying active through swimming, working out, and hiking. He also loves spending time at the beach, where he can relax and recharge in the sun.

Abby

Abby is one of the newest members of the Animal Care Center of Salem team, joining the kennel staff with a bright smile and a big heart for animals. A Botetourt, VA local, she’s excited to begin her journey in veterinary medicine and looks forward to learning and growing alongside the ACCS team. Abby especially enjoys getting to love on all the animals in her care and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for during their stay.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys coloring, going on walks, spending time with friends, and catching up on some much-needed rest. She shares her home with two cats and a dog who keep life entertaining. Abby has lived with her grandparents since she was six years old and has already traveled to 32 states and two countries! She’s also a big fan of country music and hopes to see even more of the world in the future.

Logan

Logan is one of the newest members of the Animal Care Center of Salem team and is already making a wonderful addition with his kind spirit and love for animals. As he begins his journey in veterinary medicine, Logan is eager to learn the ropes and be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional care for every pet that comes through the doors.

Outside of work, Logan enjoys spending time with his family—especially since his mom, Jen, is the groomer here at ACCS, and his sister, Lexi, serves as the kennel manager! With such strong family ties to the clinic, Logan fits right in and is excited to grow alongside the team and continue building his experience in animal care.

Jen

Dog Whisperer Extraordinaire, Jen is our fabulous groomer here at ACCS. She’s been in the veterinary medicine field for 15 years and in that time has cross-trained as a kennel and veterinary assistant as well as groomer. Her favorite animal is a tiger and her favorite part of being a groomer is working with pets that other groomers have said cannot be groomed. At home, Jen has her own rescued hounds, ragdoll cat, and rescued domestic cats.

Kaitlin

Kaitlin serves as the Staff Manager at the Animal Care Center of Salem and brings over 11 years of experience in veterinary medicine to her role. A native of Southwest Virginia, she has dedicated her career to supporting both pets and the people who care for them. Kaitlin’s favorite part of her work is the time she spends with regular patients and their owners—building long-term relationships and watching pets grow and thrive over the years. Her leadership, compassion, and experience make her an essential part of the ACCS team.

Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys reading—especially science fiction—and relaxing with her two dogs and two cats. Her love of animals and curiosity about the world around her make her a well-rounded and inspiring leader within the clinic.

Sherry

Sherry serves as the Practice Manager at the Animal Care Center of Salem and brings an incredible 37 years of experience to her role. A Salem, VA local, she has spent her career dedicated to the care of animals and the people who love them. Sherry’s favorite part of her work is helping animals while building lasting relationships with clients over the years. She also served as the practice manager for the previous veterinary office at this same location, making her deeply connected to the clinic’s history and community.

Outside of work, Sherry enjoys spending her free time crafting and gardening. She shares her home with two dogs and a leopard gecko who keep her company and remind her daily of the joy that comes from caring for animals.
