Over the years she’s worn many hats—including grooming for five years and assisting for eight—before finding her current home at the front desk. She loves helping clients feel informed and confident about their pets’ care, and her breadth of experience makes her an invaluable resource to both clients and the team.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, watching movies, playing video games, listening to live music, and diving into anything related to history. She shares her home with two dogs and two cats, and a fun fact about her: she once met actor Bill Murray as an infant—she just wishes she could remember it!

Though she’s just beginning her journey in veterinary medicine, her compassion and positive attitude make a big impact on the pets and people she meets each day. Deidre especially enjoys helping to build strong, trusting relationships between owners and their pets, knowing how important that bond is to every family.

Originally from Richmond, VA, Kymiah is an enthusiastic newer member of the Animal Care Center of Salem team. With just over a year of experience in veterinary medicine, she brings a bright attitude and a strong eagerness to learn. She loves being around animals every day, discovering new things about veterinary care, and—of course—getting to wear cute scrub tops while doing what she loves. Kymiah is preparing to begin her pre-veterinary undergraduate studies soon, continuing her path toward a rewarding career helping animals.

She has been working in veterinary medicine for about a year while completing her pre-veterinary undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where she’s preparing to apply to veterinary school. With three years of pre-vet education and a growing passion for hands-on experience, Lynelis enjoys meeting animals of all kinds and learning about the unique behaviors and personalities of different breeds.
When she’s not studying or working, Lynelis enjoys baking, crocheting, sewing, and curling up with a good book. She also participates in showing dairy cattle and loves caring for her cat, Marci. Dog Whisperer Extraordinaire, Jen is our fabulous groomer here at ACCS. She’s been in the veterinary medicine field for 15 years and in that time has cross-trained as a kennel and veterinary assistant as well as groomer. Her favorite animal is a tiger and her favorite part of being a groomer is working with pets that other groomers have said cannot be groomed.
